Employ the power of music to strengthen your community! , join us in Canada's UNESCO City of Music, London, Ontario.
Meet, learn from and engage with music champions from the civic realm. The City of Music Conference is geared towards policy development practices that will help shape Canadian communities. This is an opportunity for municipal leaders to participate in a full-day discussion with colleagues on advancing communities through music. Attendees will share with and learn from other municipal staff and leadership, politicians, association leaders and music industry professionals during a day of transformative conversations, presentations and idea sharing. And of course, the City of Music Conference wouldn't be complete without live music programming.
Sustainability and the future of presenting live music is being addressed across all levels of government, with discourse relating to greater accessibility and the removal of barriers at the forefront. Within these discussions, municipalities play a significant role in creating a viable live events network. Deeper dialogue and knowledge sharing will bring forward imaginative solutions and resources.
As a UNESCO City of Music, London is working towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in day-to-day activity.
The SDGs are a “shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.” This means London is committed to using a lens of music to drive positive change through the objectives setout by the 2030 Sustainable Agenda.
